Often we see wildlife right on the property and it is a beautiful sight? to see. Once we were enjoying an evening on the deck with family and a group of 7 bucks came walking by. Yes, it was amazing! The living space features tall vaulted ceilings, a couch and two overstuffed chairs with ottomans, a gas fireplace, a 60 inch LCD Tv with DVD player (please bring or rent movies at the local general store in Lewiston) and many large windows for natural lighting. Also, ?overlooks the exquisite deck the wraps half way around the cabin. The Kitchen shows off its beautiful granite counter tops and hardwood flooring. There are? stainless steel appliances including the fridge (brand new, may not show in photos) gas stove, the trash compactor, the dish washer and the microwave. All amenities, including pots and pans, baking items, cookie sheets, plates, cups, mugs, forks, spoons, knives, a grater, a chopper, a coffee maker, a blender, cutting board, storage containers (please do not take home), foil and cleaning supplies. The kitchen also features plenty of space in the pantry cabinets. Enjoy these amenities by bringing your food and dining in. Plus, you get to enjoy the beautiful log dining table we made ourselves with live edges and our own custom design. The kitchen opens up into the living room and dining area. The Dining room and Living room can lead you to the Deck on the second story. The deck offers a fun and relaxing atmosphere. We have arranged an outdoor seating area with a comfortable love seat, two chairs and a coffee table along with a separate table and chairs for enjoying meals, coffee, games etc. The stairs leading up to the deck from outside the cabin can often be slippery, please use caution. Please do not wear your studded wading (fishing) boots on the deck. The Master bedroom is located on the 3rd story and has a Posterpedic CalKing mattress. It also features two leather chairs for reading, chatting and relaxing with a cup of tea. There is plenty of storage with a dresser and long closets to hang your clothing/gear. Please note: we may have some things in the closets. The master bedroom has a large bathroom with two sinks, an oversized 'open' shower and a ?beautiful tub. The toilet is separated by a door. The middle bedroom has a Queen size bed with the ?fun fishing decor. It features two large windows and a walk in closet (here you will find two twin air mattresses). Outside the room, ?you will find a private toilet, a shower with just a glass door for privacy but please note, it is open, a sink with storage and a fully equipped laundry room. This can also act as the 'Mud Room' by entering in from the garage. The garage will likely have a boat in it along with some fishing gear and items for the cabin. Please let us know if you expect to need the space in the garage. The property is beautiful and often times you will see wildlife. Please keep it tidy as sometimes it can bring in that wildlife. The property is about 1 acre of level ground and the other 1.5 acres is on steep terrain. Please stay on the flat piece surrounding and up to the private roads. Plenty of room to play outdoor games and for entertainment. The water comes from a well and we had it tested for safe drinking. It is safe to drink, however, we recommend bringing up water for drinking but totally up to you. Summer months tends to bring a lot of iron and material up through the pipes pending availability of a new filter instal please expect this. Guest access You have access to the whole cabin along with the level property around the cabin with the exception of garage space at times. Please let us know if you may need this space and we will do our best to accommodate. Please note: We run a fishing guide business and there may be a boat in the garage as well as fishing gear. Do not touch nor expect to use this gear for obvious reasons, thank you. Guest interaction Please feel free to give us a call or text. Cabin (1400 sq. ft.) in Lewiston, CA
2.7 miles from Lewiston Lake
Just some of the reasons you'll love Sow's Ear: LOTS of recent upgrades include new living room furniture, new bedroom carpet, new hallway luxury vinyl plank flooring that's totally waterproof and major kitchen enhancements. More reasons: Great fishing access, hot tub overlooking the Trinity River (about a minute's stroll from cabin), end of the road quiet. Furnishings include cool antiques as well as a new tapestry wildlife couch and matching chair that are a delight to cuddle up on. There is a very pleasant covered porch with nice seating, a bit of river view, room to dry waders and gear and maybe enjoy a glass of wine. Dog-friendly and no minimum stay. Also, this place has a great vibe. Sow's Ear is one cabin up from the river. Our own cabin is one of the closest to the river on the entire Trinity and since our guests have full use of our cabin's riverfront patio, hot tub and more, as well as someone to borrow stuff like tape, or a wrench, or a compressor, or flour from (not to mention a dead battery jump!) you win all the way around. Sow's Ear is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin that is priced for up to 6 guests, but it's quite popular for couples, so we have special rates for a party of two using one bed. We will consider a few guests over 6, but try to keep numbers down. If approved, additional guests over a total of six are $16 each per night. You can watch Netflix and Amazon Prime on the SMART TV, and a really good selection of books awaits you. Sow's Ear has Wi-Fi and you can use your cellphone for calling over the internet. Guests get free introductory lessons on SUPs (stand-up paddle boards). We're on a wide and calm stretch of the river that's perfect for learning this sport. There is excellent hiking right outside your door, and who doesn't enjoy watching the deer that wander through the yard daily? Sow's Ear has a wood stove (wood provided), central heating and air-conditioning, a full laundry (supplies provided) and a well-stocked kitchen. It is just 5 minutes or so off 299, but end-of-the-road quiet, and very easy to reach on fully paved roads. The river is less than a minute's walk down the drive and you have full use of our shady patio overlooking the river complete with lounge chairs, a fire pit and more BBQs (including a Traeger wood pellet model). Guests are encouraged to enjoy our 600+ feet of riverfront, the hammock by the river AND and don't forget that hot tub overlooking the river. The tub is upriver of our cabin and the lawn so guests don't feel crowded and we don't mind if you whoop it up as long as you treat our place with respect. Each bedroom is unique and tastefully furnished. The master bedroom, Honeysuckle, has a custom queen log bed and a sliding door to the large covered porch. The Rustic has a queen-size log bed and a slider to the river porch. You can see and hear the river from the living room, porch and the Rustic bedroom. The Cedar Sanctuary room that looks out on the rosemary garden is completely paneled in cedar tongue & groove. It has a queen bed and adult-sized bunk beds. We have really cool animal sleeping bags for kids. See them in Photos. Depending on the season we may be able to offer a discount for over 3 nights. We also offer a dandy extended stay rate for traveling medical professionals and others who need a home away from home, and we have a couple's rate when only one bedroom is used. Please note the "Average nightly rate" you see is set by VRBO and it is not accurate; our posted rates are. Bringing your own boat(s)? Bucktail put-in is across the river. Sow's Ear has proven to be a very popular cabin for fishers, who can tie their boats off to the trees overnight. Their catarafts are safe on the river bank, or on our lawn. Remember: our shoreline is your shoreline. You can dine overlooking the river, lounge in the chairs and hammock, or fish from the shore. KAYAK~SUP~RAFT! Bring tubes or smaller rafts for playing in front of our cabin. Rent our kayaks and SUPs for lake use, or join us on a guided river trip. Guests often say this trip is the highlight of their vacation. Spring-Fall: We offer top notch sit-on-top kayak lessons, guided trips and rentals; guided raft trips and rentals; and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) demos, lessons and rentals. Our kayak lessons and guided river trips are exceptional. Check out our bio to see why. We are very good at teaching and guiding, never pushing you beyond your comfort zone, yet showing you how to expand it with our help. Fly fishers love our cabins. Michael Caranci of The Fly Shop in Redding says of them: 'For sheer seclusion, access, and cozy, comfortable accommodations, the cabins at the Trinity River Adventure Inn are certainly among the best.' If you're looking for comfort, peace and very reasonable rates, you're going to love Sow's Ear. The Miner's in one word: enchanting. It is a tiny jewel of a place located just a few feet from the Trinity River. It's pet-friendly, has world class but challenging fishing right outside your door and exquisite river and mountain views. As soon as it was available, we upgraded to a fast and unlimited internet supplier (fall/2017). The Miner's Landing is a fabulous river rock patio with a fire pit & BBQ grill right next to the river. What beats a fire and watching the stars in the night sky? Occasionally we approve a fourth guest who can bring a sleeping bag and sleep on a (provided) sleeping pad, but this is a small cabin and best enjoyed by 2-3. Note: To access the sleeping loft you will need to climb a ladder (as seen in photos). If climbing a ladder will pose and issue, this may not be the best cabin for you. Minimalist cooking facilities, but there is a sink, convection/toaster oven, microwave, deep electric skillet and Farberware single-cup coffee maker with coffee pods and creamers included. There is a cool clock with mood lighting and nature sounds; you can plug your phone or pad into it to stream music. Some of our parties have brought cast iron cookware and cooked on the fire pit/BBQ or their own tabletop Weber down on the landing. We were invited to drop in on one of them and visited while he fried gorgeous potatoes in cast iron over an open fire. He patiently turned each herb-seasoned chunk as we caught up with their travels. They had just spent a month in Europe, mostly Paris and some of Italy, but were anxious to return to the Miner's beside the river. BBQ on the landing, or bring a camp stove and cook on the landing (please not in cabin; we have limited emergency response resources up here and a fire could be devastating). We have gas and Weber BBQs up on the main patio between Alpen Glow & Carriage House. There is cookware, dining ware and serving ware. Dorm-sized refrigerator has a separate freezer for that all-essential pint of Ben & Jerry's, plus we supply a huge cooler with frozen water jugs to keep it cool. The bathroom features a roomy shower with the toilet in it (like you see on some boats and in some trailers). We are always upgrading our cabins. We paved the main drive and put in a large parking lot at the entrance that's great for boats and vehicles, but Miner's guests have their own parking close to the cabin. All of our Steel Bridge cabins have Wi-Fi and late 2017 saw a switch to a fast and unlimited carrier. Yippee! Time to unplug and recharge? You really are going to love this place.

Beautiful and fully appointed A-Frame house on the bank of the Trinity River. Relax, chill, fish, play... On the Trinity River! Alpen Glow is a wonderful, pet-friendly cabin that has an extraordinary deck overlooking the river. The railings are see-through with stainless steel cable horizontals to optimize the view. The huge kitchen is fully appointed. Pretty much, if it doesn't have it, you don't need it. There is a large pantry with many basics. There is dining for 8-10 (if approved; Alpen Glow is priced for up to 7 guests). The large living room has 30-foot ceilings, an electric fireplace that provides pleasant heat and is stunning to watch, an extensive library, flat panel TV with Dish TV and DVD player with a large library of movies. The very large leather sectional features a recliner and a comfortable hide-a-bed, so extra guests can sleep there and not on the futon in the master loft, which gives everyone more privacy. Alpen Glow has Wi-Fi, cable TV and a (shared) land line phone with free long distance. Wi-Fi has been a stumbling block for us here because we've had limited suppliers and options but Fall 2017 we finally got access to unlimited fast streaming and we jumped immediately. The cabin has all kinds of sleeping areas, including two lofts (one is an enormous master loft with a CalKing bed and in-room Jacuzzi tub. Its closets are so large, we even put a twin bed in one of them). There is one traditional bedroom with a queen bed and a twin bed and the leather sectional in the living room has a queen hide-a-bed in it as well as room for another sleeper on the other side of the couch. Yes, it is THAT big! More details below: The lofts are open, but do not look on each other. The spacious Master Loft has a California King log bed with an organic memory foam topper, wood stove, Jacuzzi tub in room (not an outdoor hot tub; a bathing tub), queen futon and a private bath (toilet & shower; double vanity). The River Loft log bed looks out over the river, mountains and sky. The traditional bedroom on the main floor has a handsome wrought iron queen bed with pillowtop mattress and a twin bed. There's a mud room that's great for drying gear. The mud room has an additional pantry, washer and dryer, plus a deep sink. Alpen Glow has an enormous deck overlooking the Trinity River, mountains and trees. Year-round, this is a favored spot for guests. There is a shared BBQ patio on the upriver side of Alpen Glow, but the majority of the cabin focuses on the river and guests rarely see other cabins' guests unless they go out of their way. Birdsong is so abundant, it boggles the mind. There is salmon and trout fishing at the cabin, plus a swimming hole. Wonderful ponds nearby are warmer than the river in summer, and fun for calm water swimming and playing with your dogs. A log swing and comfy chairs are all around the 1.15 acre lot that is shared by 2 other cabins, each unique in its own right and private from each other, but close enough you can rent all for a large group, as many family reunions in summer and fishing groups in winter do. There are no other properties on the Trinity River that equal this location. It really does have everything.

House (900 sq. ft.) in Douglas City, CA

The Carriage House is a comfortable, unique 1BR/1BA/full kitchen cabin with a swamp cooler for summer and cozy wood stove plus gas heat for winter. It is in easy wading distance to popular steelhead riffles and there's a salmon hole right in front of it. Some of our winter steelhead guests come every year and never drive once they've arrived. They fish right here and do very well. See our photos for some of their fish shots. Need to do some work online while you're here? The cabin has a fine old secretary (desk) with good light and we upgraded to the fastest unlimited Wi-Fi available Fall 2017. This is a rustic, romantic getaway for a couple, but it works well for 2-3 singles with one in the queen log bed, one in the twin captain's bed and one on the very nice leather and tapestry couch (bring a sleeping bag for the couch). It's located on spacious lawns overlooking the Trinity River. There is a swimming hole on the property, year-round trout fishing, beautiful birdsong and great tranquility. The interior is almost all cedar. The full kitchen has everything you might need except for a dishwasher. The bedroom has a queen log bed, plus there's a twin captain's bed in the living room along with a stunning leather and wildlife tapestry couch and love seat. The deep, covered back porch on the river side has a mister for hot days, 2nd dining set, plenty of room for drying gear, and is a wonderful place to relax. The BBQ patio is next to the cabin and shared by the cabin beyond it. Experience end of the lane peace and privacy. There are only 2 other cabins ("Alpen Glow" and "The Miner's Cabin" on this 1+ acre property. You can rent all for a larger group; it's great for small weddings and reunions. Wonderful birding: great blue herons, bald eagles, red tailed hawks, a host of migratory waterfowl, golden eagles, osprey & more. WiFi is available, but guests should not expect lightning-fast city speeds.

Small quaint house with my guest room and private bathroom, with all the amenities. Such as, shampoo, soap, towels, clean sheets, lots of blankets, and outlets with USB charging capabilities, smart TV in the bedroom. The bed has extra pillows, and clean air cloud 100% cotton sheets and lots of blankets. Sofa bed in the living area on your side of the house, which can be made into a comfy bed. Tiny deck off the laundry area with a private entrance and parking if you prefer. Access to kitchen, dining room, desk, and washer and dryer if needed. Coffee, tea, cream, sugar, cereal, toast, and whatever sweet treats I happen to be creating! I make sugar cookies and chocolates. The room comes with breakfast. I usually have coffee, some type of breakfast which may be bagels, cereal, cinnamon rolls, or hot cereal. It varies, I've been known to do anything from cobbler, to an evening appetizer. The house is located on the Trinity river, right off of Highway 299, and easy access in any direction. I have a dog and two cats. So no guests with allergies if that is a problem. I also have two orange Persian cats that I was fostering but turns out they may be staying. No other dogs allowed as my dog is aggressive towards other large dogs. (She was attacked by another larger dog.) She is very friendly with people, children. I have a large area for parking a boat, or 5th wheel trailer, and a round about driveway. Feel free to contact me with any questions about the area or California if you are coming from out of the state or country.

A terrible housing shortage has been caused in our area by the Carr Fire and the Camp Fire. We have made it available for a family to live in as a longer-term rental. We are unable to accept short-term bookings for the rest of this year as we help our community at this time of need. Totally private, beautifully furnished, fully equipped, the Barn House is a unique property suitable for one or two people, and one or two well-behaved dogs. While you heal from the fires, your home base will be the oldest barn in Shasta County. Beautifully renovated into a comfortable guest house furnished with antiques and heirlooms, the Barn House at Stonewall Ranch is a true country retreat, where you can heal and recover at your own pace. Available for long-term stay for fire victims. (Please contact us to find out more.) Zogg Mine Road was evacuated for the Carr Fire, but the Barn House was not structurally damaged and the property has been restored and is ready for occupancy. We understand how difficult the fires have been for us all and want to help. Just 17 miles southwest of Redding, California, this is a quiet, peaceful home that sits between two meadows. You're more likely to see wildlife passing than cars. The Barn House is set in a peaceful mountain meadow by a year-round boulder-lined stream on a paved mountain road that winds through woodland virtually untouched by the developer's hand, the Barn House is a place like no other. The damage from the Carr Fire looks more like the aftermath of a control burn, not a moonscape. Beautifully furnished with heirlooms, antiques and works by local artists and craftspeople, the Barn House features Tennessee red-oak hardwood floors and knotty pine paneling throughout on walls and cathedral ceilings. Features: An open floor-plan; natural-stone fireplace built with stones from the ranch; well-equipped kitchen with full-size appliances; family-size dining table and dining alcove; massive decks that run the length of the building overlook a meadow and the boulder-lined creek that runs along the length of the property. Let the sounds of the gentle brook just outside the door lull you to sleep. The bedroom features an antique four-poster double bed, an heirloom chest, 19th century armoire and dresser, and a contemporary wing-back recliner The great room with its cathedral ceilings and knotty pine interior is as comfortable as it is beautiful. Antique chairs, deep old-fashioned rockers, and a warm natural-stone fireplace with pellet insert create an inviting home. Relax with a good book by the fire, listen to music and enjoy a glass of wine. The futon couch converts to a full-size bed. From the massive decks, kick back and enjoy being surrounded by nature. Stonewall Ranch is home to a variety of wildlife--the California black bear, wild turkey, the rare ringtail cat, the endangered martin/fisher, and herds of deer freely roam the mountain. Our guests are more likely to see deer pass by on their way to the creek, than cars on the quiet country lane that leads to the property. A paradise for hikers and mountain bicyclists, the property abuts the backside of Whiskeytown NRA, a veritable wilderness. Ample parking is available for two cars next to the front gate and for large vehicles, including RVs (no hookups), there is a large turnout across the road. One or two well-behaved dogs are welcome. There is a small fenced yard, and a large meadow that is ideal for doggy play and exercise. The Barn House at Stonewall Ranch is just 20 minutes from Redding, but it feels like a world away. In some ways it is. There are no gas stations, supermarkets or convenience stores once you leave Redding. There is a small general store in Igo that is open from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. for essentials, as well as milk, bread, beer and cigarettes. There are no hard-liquor sales in Igo. The Igo Store also serves breakfast on Sunday morning, and during the week hamburgers and deli sandwiches are available. The Barn House at Stonewall Ranch has basic cable TV and satellite internet. Open flames are not allowed anywhere on the property. Smoking is not permitted inside the Barn House. Smoking is allowed on the exterior decks away from open windows and doors. E-cigarettes and vapes may be used inside the Barn House, so long as they do not emit a strong odor. The Barn House is air conditioned and has an overhead fan in the great room for warm weather, and a tower fan. It also has a propane heating stove, as well as a pellet insert for the fireplace for chilly temperatures.

The homes have a trail to the water's edge and marina but the elderly should avoid and children should not be left alone. 2. There is wildlife so please be aware for children and pets. 3. Although Lake Shasta is the best lake for watersports, swimming, fishing and general boating in California, it is a reservoir like many lakes in California. The water is let out all year long into the Sacramento river which supplies water to many parts of the state. This pushes our distance from the lake house to the water out as the level drops. Fortunately even in terrible drought years (like 2015), the house still has a view of some of the lake (unlike some parts of the lake which dry up entirely). For 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 the lake filled to top....in 2020 it was 30' from the top. 2021 is down significantly. Go to our web site and check the "Shasta Lake Water Level" page for latest. 4. The lower water levels might make the boat ramp several hundred yards further. and will make the walk to the marina a little longer or require you to drive. Even back in 2015 after a 4 year drought, when it was the lowest, It still took us 30 minutes to drive our boat at speed from one end to the other.....There was plenty of famous Shasta GREAT water. If water level drops to 150" below the top, the local boat ramp and marinas will close requiring an 18 min drive to another ramp. PLEASE SEE OUR LAKE LEVEL UPDATE on our web site for latest info. 5. The decks are high off the ground. Although they have railings as you would expect, if you have children, you need to watch them all the time outside as a fall from the deck would be a serious or life threatening fall. 5. The stairways to some of the floors are steep. If you have elderly staying with you, we do not recommend having them stay on the main floor.

6 If you have elderly staying with you, we do recommend having them stay on the main floor which has 3 bedrooms.
